The newest Mars rover, Curiosity, is scheduled to land on the red planet on August 6.

Delivering a small car sized vehicle to another planet is no easy task. This highly entertaining video illustrates just how bold the attempt will be.

Watching the proposed landing sequence may make you wonder if NASA scientists and engineers are crazy to think this landing attempt will succeed.

The vehicle's entry descent to the surface of Mars from a speed of 13,000 miles per hour to a soft landing will all happen in seven minutes, in a plan dubbed, "Curiosity's Seven Minutes of Terror."
